New project¶
The New Project wizard registers a solar plant in STR Maps: its location, inspection data, electrical configuration and, optionally, an orthophoto. When finished, the project is ready for drone image uploads or for building its layout.
Required permission: project creation
Only Owner or Admin users of an organization with a self-service (SaaS) plan can create projects. If you don't have this permission, the New Project button won't appear and the page will return you to the home screen. Your plan may limit the maximum number of projects. See Roles and permissions.
Access¶
Click + New Project in the application header. The wizard opens as a panel on the right, over a satellite map. At the bottom you'll see the progress (Stage N of 5) and the Back and Next buttons.
Step 1 · New Location¶
Indicate where the plant is located using one of these three methods:

| Search on STR Maps... | Type an address (minimum 3 characters) and choose one of the results |
The chosen address appears in the Selected Location card and the map centers on it. Click Confirm Location to continue.
Tip
The project name is filled in automatically with the address; you can change it in the next step.
Step 2 · Project Data¶
Fields marked with * are required.

Step 3 · Electrical Configuration (optional)¶
This whole step is optional: you can complete it later from the project settings or click Skip to Final Step.

Each block can be removed with the X on its card.
Step 4 · Drawings and Layout (optional)¶
Lets you link an already published orthophoto by giving its Type (RGB / Thermal) and its URL. Click Complete Later to skip it.
Recommended
It's simpler to upload the orthophoto afterward, from the Layout tab of the Project Dashboard or from the Map settings: there you upload the GeoTIFF file and the application georeferences it automatically.
Step 5 · Final Settings¶

Click Save Project. The application creates the project, sets up its cloud storage and uploads the cover image.
Project created¶
When it finishes you'll see Project Created! with three options:

Creating another project
Create Another Project keeps the previous project's data in the form. Review it all before saving so you don't create a duplicate.
Frequently asked questions¶
Q: When saving, "Error while loading the project." appears. What's going on? A: The most common cause is having reached your plan's maximum number of projects. Contact your organization's Owner or STR to expand it.
Q: No drone appears in Series. A: Your user profile couldn't be loaded. Reload the page; if it persists, contact support.
Q: Can I change the data later? A: Yes. Owners/Admins can edit it from Account › Projects › Edit Project (see Account).
